Allied Partners, led by Eric Hadar, stepped in during the Great Recession to revive The Savoy Hotel. A once‑exclusive 1935 Art Deco retreat with expansive private grounds, The Savoy had lost its premier flair. The hotel’s structure was still strong, but its character was gone. The interiors no longer reflected their Art Deco style, the guest experience had faded, and in 2017, Hurricane Irma left the property in need of urgent repairs.
While others saw a hotel in decline, Hadar and his team saw an opportunity for The Savoy Hotel to return to the upscale resort it was once known for. Allied bought its unpaid loan for $28 million and, in 2012, assumed control with a clear mission: revive this iconic property in Miami Beach’s South of Fifth.
Instead of rebuilding or making major structural changes, Allied Partners funded and managed a full renovation that respected the hotel’s history and raised service and operations to high-end boutique standards, with a focus on exclusivity and personal attention.
Working with Modplay Studio, they redesigned all 31 suites, the lobby, and shared spaces. The updated look included vintage lighting, velvet furniture, banana-leaf wallpaper, and curated art. Historic details were updated to create a warm, stylish atmosphere. New features were added to improve the guest experience, including a café bar, an outdoor garden, and an on-site cigar roller. The two-acre oceanfront pool area, with a Michael Lin mural and 200 feet of direct beach access, became a main highlight.
Through its hands-on management of the project, creative approach, and vision, Allied Partners transformed The Savoy Hotel into one of Florida’s top Art Deco boutique hotels. They now attract a discerning clientele and the hotel’s long-term value has increased, all while keeping its historic Art Deco character.
